چکیده
The throughput of the injection molding process is restricted by cooling time each cycle which accounts for three-fourths time. Manufacturing molds out copper or alloys can reduce because their high thermal conductivity, but mold life reduced has much lower hardness and strength than traditional materials such as steels. By layering steel onto using directed energy deposition, advantages both be exploited to while maintaining durability. In this study, 17-4 PH stainless was deposited a substrate demonstrate potential create multi-material molds.
